US-India Networking and e-Science Workshop
Indiana University, Internet2 and the GLORIAD/Taj Project with funding from the US National Science Foundation, and ERNET India are organizing a “US-India Network Enabled Research Collaboration Workshop” to be held in New Delhi, India December 5-7, 2010. The Workshop venue will be Lalit Hotel, New Delhi.
This Workshop will bring together networking experts and domain scientists from India and the US. The Workshop will have multiple goals.
1. The Workshop will provide an opportunity for scientists and researchers to understand the current state and future plans for networking and cyberinfrastructure in general in India and the US.
2. The Workshop will provide an opportunity for networking and cyberinfrastructure experts to understand the current state of, and future demand for, networking and cyberinfrastructure support for science and research collaborations between India and the US.
3. The Workshop will provide an opportunity for US and Indian researchers and their graduate students to establish and strengthen research relationships resulting in increased scientific collaboration between the two countries.
Draft Agenda
Day 1 – morning
Welcome and introductory remarks
Cyberinfrastructure(CI) presentations by the US and India. Both current and planned CI technology deployments in both countries.
Lunch
Day 1 – afternoon
Select science presentations highlighting the use (and potential use) of CI as a toll to enhance e-Science
Evening event
Day 2 – morning
Science panels continue to meet, focusing on CI enhanced international collaborations
Lunch
Day 2 – afternoon
Science groups report out on collaborations and required CI. CI experts report out on CI requirements and plans to meet requirements.
Meeting concludes.
